red

red red for the last day of color week. i realized i only had fifteen minutes left of today before red day was officially over-- mad dash for flickr! this photo was taken tonight during a beach-walk with my family. there was actually a third red car right near these two. serendipity! many thanks to mav and stephanie for this idea... so much fun.

have a wonderful weekend, friends!

summering

Sadie and I quite agree that summer is practically perfect. She loves it for catching tennis balls and swims in the lake and sitting outside for hours every night on the steps listening and looking. I love it for family and quiet and warm, sweet air and time that passes a million times more slowly than it does at school.

special find

a trip to the salvation army for work pants yielded not pants, but a book! i found this little treasure and couldn't resist: "how to write letters" by mary owens crowther, copyright 1922

my favorite page!

some beautiful script.

i bought it with the intention of using it for collage, but i'm not positive i'll be able to take an x-acto to it!

i think tomorrow i'll do some actual fun crafty things. finally! this may be my last chance for a while... my semester starts on monday. hmm.

a view from bed

my room is an absolute disaster as i've only spent time here sleeping since i finished my finals... the mess hasn't provoked me into action yet. i'm planning on doing some woodblock prints this weekend from the birds i carved for my final project, so look forward to those! other than that, i have nothing to report. hope all is well!
