The Tooth Fairy
Today I’m excited and a little nervous to share this – some beginning pages from a children’s book I’m working on. Although I’ve always had a strong interest in children’s book illustration, the pieces I’ve done in the past never quite worked the way I wanted them to. Recently, I was handed a manuscript of a friend and decided to take the opportunity to try again.
Definitely click these images (especially the first two) and view at a larger size to really see the texture.
The story follows a girl named Ellen with a very loose tooth.

Ellen plays with her friends at the park, and on the way home her tooth falls out. Her mother tells her to put the tooth under her pillow when she goes to sleep. That night when the Tooth Fairy appears to collect Ellen’s tooth, she can’t find it anywhere. Thankfully, the Tooth Fairy remembers her magic wand and is finally able to find Ellen’s tooth.

It’s definitely been a challenge to find a way to make my “voice” work for children’s book; hopefully this is a step in the right direction!

Aw, thank you, ladies! No, I’m not the writer; it’s actually written by Albe’s dad! :)

Great illustrations you have there. I just wanna commend you and Albe’s dad for creating a children’s book about the tooth fairy.
